Dr. Dana Flynn Schneider is a clinical psychologist who has over 25 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, parents and couples in private practice, community, and non-profit settings across several regions of the United States. Dr. Flynn Schneider called several states home during her childhood, adolescence, and adult life. She joined our team at Pitts & Associates in July, 2015.
Dr. Flynn Schneider attended Birmingham-Southern College, earned Master’s and Educational Specialist degrees at the University of Missouri in Kansas City (with Mental Health and Marriage & Family emphases, respectively), and then received her Doctor of Psychology degree from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, Chicago Campus. She completed her pre-doctoral internship in Rochester, New York and then returned to Chicago for her post-doctoral work.
While living in Chicago, Dr. Flynn Schneider served as the Clinical and Administrative Program Director for Shared Vision, a school-based intervention program, where she supervised Master and Doctoral-level practicum students, coordinated research and parent outreach, and conducted individual and family therapy. Dr. Flynn Schneider also served as the Clinical Coordinator and Director of Training at Pediatric Psychology Associates where she continued supervising graduate students and working therapeutically with people of all ages. Dr. Flynn Schneider also had independent private practices in Oak Brook and Oak Park, IL. Currently, she maintains her private work with individuals and small businesses in the Chicagoland area via telehealth and in-person visits when possible.
Dr. Flynn Schneider is also a graduate of the Leadership and Transformation program through the Foundation for Conscious Living in Ojai, California, where she has been studying body centered transformational strategies for over 10 years. She holds a coaching certificate and is a Restoring Resourcefulness Faculty member. She collaborates with colleagues from all over to bring simple, yet potent practices to people all over the world. Dr. Flynn Schneider combines her passion for body centered transformation and traditional psychotherapeutic approaches through collaboration, deep caring, connection, and play.
