Mollie K. Thomas, PhD

Dr. Mollie K. Thomas was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. She completed her undergraduate studies at Auburn University, majoring in psychology and earning minors in both sociology and business. Dr. Thomas earned her Masters and Doctoral degrees in clinical psychology at the University of Arkansas. Her master’s thesis and Doctoral dissertation both focused on mental health issues experienced by combat veterans. While completing her graduate studies, Dr. Thomas was fortunate enough to work further with military veterans during five clerkships at four different Veterans Affairs Medical Centers (VAMCs).

After completing her doctoral studies, Dr. Thomas completed an internship and a fellowship at the University of Alabama Department of Psychiatry and Neurobiology. In partnership with the Birmingham VAMC, she further developed her specialties in both mental health care for veterans and in the provision of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for the treatment of trauma-related, addictive, and personality disorders.

Dr. Thomas specializes in the treatment of trauma, addiction, veterans’ issues, and Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). She has worked in Birmingham for over 20 years, practicing as an individual clinician before joining Pitts & Associates in 2025.

Dr. Thomas offers the following services:
